I believe that my superpower lies in my ability to welcome change. And that ability has led me to try different career paths, when I was 18 I got a job at BBC Bureau in Moscow and have spent 3 years assisting producers and correspondents in covering hot news. Afterwards, I worked as a business developer at the biggest flower auction in the world, Royal FloraHolland and have spent 4 years acquiring purchase power from the Russian market for flower growers in Holland, Kenya and Japan. During my Masters studies at Nyenrode Business University in The Netherlands, where I have studied Digital Business and Innovation I have got a chance to work with one of my all-time favorite brands, citizenM, a chain of transformational hotels, and helped the company to develop a subscription service by organizing design thinking workshops and customer focus groups.
To me, one of the best things in the world is that sublime moment when a writer, artist, musician or simply a human being manages to express something you’ve always felt but never articulated, or at least never quite so beautifully. In my free time I like getting lost in books, nature and in helping out our family business (my family has been growing peony roses for 30 years now).
As for Awake Origins, I got to meet Joel during my studies when I was researching how mindfulness and meditation can impact business performance. Since then, I was inspired by the company’s purpose and I feel thrilled to be a part of it.
